Mother's day strawberry and vanilla jam

Today is the first Sunday of May so in Spain and Portugal we celebrate mother's day.

My mom lives in Portugal so we are not so often together but every sunday we have a little chitchat. Today I decided to make strawberry and vanilla jam maybe to remember all the cooking sundays we had together. My mom is this kind of mom that she is a super hero and she knows everything, she taught us all you need to know about crafts and hand work and most important she taught us to chace what we want by giving us important tools as knowledge and education, so she is a kind of roll model to me and my sister.

Now back to the jam, this takes only 25 minutes and it's so easy and tasty!
Here is the recipe in case you whant to try it.

Ingredients:
550g of strawberries
230g of sugar
2 tsp of vanilla sugar
Juice of a half lemon

Preparation:
Cut the strawberries in small pieces and put them in a pan, add the rest of the ingredients. With medium heat mix until they are bubbling and looking jammy ( more or less 25 min). And tadaaas jam is ready. Pour the jam into previously desinfected jars, close the lids and turn the jar upside down.

Hope you like it!

Menorca my favorite places

Hello everyone!

Still in Menorca enjoying a little getaway and I felt like sharing the amazing places I  have been.

Menorca is a paradisic island the landscapes are breathtaking and I loved to have the beaches all for ourselves.

Benibiquér is a small fishermen city with white houses and green doors, so cute to go for a walk, have a drink and make some photos.

Ciutadella an old city with nice shops and very old buildings. Loved to buy some wools in the city center.

Cala Turqueta, one of my favourite beaches from the island with crystal waters that you could see the white sand underneath.

Cala en Porter, another amasing beach with a big sandpit nice for families.

Mahón, old city with the oldest natural harbour in Europe. The buildings are so pitoresc here, you can lose yourself in the maze inside of old city center.

Cala Mitjaneta, my top 1 beach from the island. We had to walk almost a hour to arrive there but it was worthed. We had a fantastic beach for ourselves and the colour of the water was a light turquoise blue.

It was so inspiring resting here that I 'm sure I will come back soon!

Chocolate tart-cake

Good afternoon dear readers!

Today I would like to share with you a recipe of a tart-cake, I know, strange name for a sweet treat, but the true is I really can't tell if it's more tart or more cake so that's the reason!

Yesterday we had bank holiday here so I went to the kitchen and made these tart-cakes!

In half an hour I made these and had the kitchen done, I was a bit afraid of the combination but in the end was looking great and super yummy!

So if you would like to try these ones, here is how I made them.

Ingredients for the tart dough:
130g of butter
Half of a tea spoon of sugar
Half of a ts of sea salt
300g of flour
70g of water

Ingredients for the chocolate dough:
125g of black chocolate
200g of sugar
2 eggs
200 ml of cream
60g of flour

Instructions:
I started to make the tart dough putting all the ingredients in a bowl and mixing all with the hands, until I had a sanded dough.

Then I made small balls and covered de tart potes ends and sides and baked 200 degrees in the preheated hoven.

In a meanwhile I baked the chocolate dough mixing the sugar with the eggs.
Then I melted in a pan the chocolate with cream and mixed all together. For finishing I had the flour and mixed very well everything.

When the tart dough was ready (a bit golden) I filled up the middle with the chocolate dough and baked at the same temperature for more 10 minutes.

Hope you like this recipe as much I enjoy experimenting it, on a holiday that felt like sunday.

A recycled gift

Don't you love to recycle things that everone throws away? For me is like an addiction! My husband is always complaining about all the boxes, jars and all the materials I storage, but there is a time that you have an idea and you have just the right materials to do it!!

That happened to me when I wanted to make a sewing kit for a friend. Here are some pictures.

Isn't that a super cute gift? Wait until you open it and see the inside...

And about you, do you use to recycle? What are your favourite projects?

After a week at home sick today was time to bring some changes to the bathroom.

I made this wascloths from cotton yarn and they look just perfect with all the bathroom set!

They are very easy to do, also a good project for beginning to knit. I love the natural look they have, and what about you? What do you do on lazy saturdays?

Don't they look very nice on the bathroom?
